Oakville, Napa Valley Syrah
Del Bondio’s Oakville Syrah vineyard, planted in 1996, is picked and crushed in the height of the fruit’s ripeness. It is then cold soaked on native yeasts to allow the release of intense color and flavor components, which are found in the skins of the grapes. Del Bondio’s 2006 Syrah is aged on oak for an extended eighteen months.
Tasting Notes
This wine has a deep, dark, dense garnet color, with aromas of deep plums, blackberries, and mint. The palate has rich blackberries, with perfectly ripened plums, hard caramel and cedar, with a little pepper. The wine enjoys a gripping tannin and perfect acidity that rounds out the mouth feel for lingering finish and enjoyment.
